January 2017 - Adult Skating

Every Monday Wednesday and Friday. New Hours this year! 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon. Cost: $3.00 a session. North Shore Rec. Centre. Everyone welcome. Coffee provided. Come and meet new friends and get some exercise too!!!

January 2017 - mid March 2017 Outdoor Skating Rink

Truro has opened its outdoor skating rink in the Civic Square.

The grand opening is scheduled for Feb 4th, the first Saturday of the Winter Long John Festival, with live entertainment, horse and wagon rides and hot chocolate.

Tatamagouche Area Trails Association

The small group of volunteers who maintain and improve the local railbed trail, meets in the Tatamagouche library conference room at 7:00 PM on the first Tuesday of each month. Anyone interested in joining the group is invited to attend. Our AGM and election of officers is scheduled for 7:00 PM, April 4th. January 24th - Living Well Workshop

Where: the Tantramar Veterans Memorial Civic Center

When: 2017-01-24

A 10 week Living Well Workshop series to tackle your health, is being offered at the Tantramar Veterans Memorial Civic Center in Sackville, Tuesdays 6:30-8 starting Jan 24.

The series will be facilitated by some of the most talented professionals the Tantramar area. Topics that will be covered in two week blocks and include, Outdoor Experience, Nutrition, Natural Approaches to Health, Physical Activity and Art Therapy.

Only 20 spots are available, and the cost is $55. For more information, call 364-4930.

Friday, February 3 at 6pm - Great Village Legion Paint Night - Cardinal on a Wild Berry Bush. This is a "Bring-Your-Own-Canvas" event. You can choose your own canvas in whatever size you wish. Cost for the class is $25 with a portion being donated to the Legion. You must pre-register prior to the class.

Celebrate the release of local country singer

Jake Duggan's debut album with a concert!

Jake Duggan is a young fresh singer-songwriter loaded with talent. He has just released his first CD with incredible songs that portray his views of the past and present.

Although he is young, Jake has an old soul - he writes and sings beyond his years. His influences are Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, George Jones, Johnny Cash, and many others.

Come help us celebrate Jake's music on Friday, February 3rd at 7:30pm at the Grace Jollymore Joyce Arts Centre. CDs are available for purchase after the performance. This is going to be an event you won't want to miss!

Free Admission. Donations to support Jake's music and the Creamery Square Arts Society will be accepted at the door.

Our last Open Mic Night ended with a rousing chorus of

"Go Tell It On The Mountain" by the performers and some fantastic

fiddle music by Kyle and Brea Hubick.

Hosted by Jim White, this is a wonderful opportunity for new and seasoned musicians to bring their talents to the stage.

Choirs, glee clubs, barbershop quartets...All welcome!

Scotia Pool Society is hosting their 4th Annual "Swim Over to The Pond" Fundraiser

Thursday, February 16, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.,

at The Pond Classic Grill, Main Street, Bible Hill.

Admission is by donation at the door. There will be a fantastic silent auction, a 50/50 draw, and live music provided by "Over The Influence".

All proceeds go to towards improving Scotia Pool, your warm-water community pool. Come out and join us for a fantastic evening out!

Attention Know-It-Alls! It's time to put all those useless facts you've been collecting to good use! Celebrate knowledge at the Grace's first ever Trivia Night. Bring your friends and challenge other teams to three rounds of trivia. It's time for revenge of the nerds.

February Theme: "Love Hurts"

Trivia will take place on Thursday, February 23rd at 7:30pm.

Doors open at 7pm. Come early to get drinks, form teams (with a cool team name), and get settled.
First round of trivia starts at 7:30pm.

Teams limited to five members. (Loners welcome! We'll form our own hodge podge team.)
